Knovli and Quizlet: which fits how you study?

Quizlet is the best-known flashcard site, with an enormous library of sets. Knovli is newer and smaller, and built around a different question: not “did you study this?” but “can you show you know it, by the day you need to?”

Where Knovli is different

It works back from a date. Tell Knovli when you need to know a deck and the mastery plan turns it into short daily lessons, mixing new cards with earlier ones and re-spreading the work if you miss a day.

It asks for more than recognition. Picking the right answer from four is not the same as producing it. Knovli counts a card as Proven only when you have got it right in more than one kind of practice, and you can require that typing it from memory is one of them.

Playing is practice. 1vWorld, 1v1, Group Play and the Daily Quiz all feed the same XP, streak and progress as a study session.

Where Quizlet may suit you better

If the main thing you want is a ready-made set for almost any textbook or course, Quizlet’s library is far larger than Knovli’s. Knovli’s Explore is growing, and its Curated Content is reviewed, but it does not yet cover as many subjects.

Using both

Nothing stops you. Many people find material in one place and learn it in another. If you already have cards somewhere else, you can type or paste them into a Knovli deck, or photograph a printed list and let Knovli draft the cards.

Common questions

Is Knovli free like Quizlet?

Knovli’s free plan covers building decks, studying in every mode and playing, with limits on how much you can create. The Pricing page has the exact numbers.

Can I move my Quizlet sets to Knovli?

There is no one-click import. You can paste or type terms into a deck, or photograph a printed list and have Knovli draft the cards for you to check.

Which is better for a class?

Both have classes. Knovli’s strength is assigning a mastery plan with a due date and seeing which cards each student has proven.
