- Alberta
- Western province known for oil sands, the Rocky Mountains, and cities Calgary and Edmonton (the capital). Bordered by British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and the US.
- British Columbia
- Canada's westernmost province, bordered by the Pacific Ocean. Known for mountains, forests, and Vancouver. Capital is Victoria.
- Manitoba
- Central prairie province bordered by Saskatchewan, Ontario, and Hudson Bay. Known for wheat farming. Capital is Winnipeg.
- New Brunswick
- Eastern province and one of Canada's original four provinces. Mostly forested, bilingual (English and French). Capital is Fredericton.
- Newfoundland and Labrador
- Canada's easternmost province, including the island of Newfoundland and mainland Labrador. Known for Atlantic fishing. Capital is St. John's.
- Northwest Territories
- Large northern territory covering central Arctic Canada. Known for the Mackenzie River and aurora borealis. Capital is Yellowknife.
- Nova Scotia
- Atlantic province on a peninsula in eastern Canada. One of the original four provinces. Known for coastlines and fishing. Capital is Halifax.
- Nunavut
- Canada's largest and newest territory (created 1999), covering the eastern Arctic. Home to many Inuit people. Capital is Iqaluit.
- Ontario
- Canada's most populous province, home to the capital Ottawa and largest city Toronto. Located near the Great Lakes.
- Prince Edward Island
- Canada's smallest province, an island in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Known for red soil, potatoes, and Anne of Green Gables. Capital is Charlottetown.
- Quebec
- Canada's largest province by area, predominantly French-speaking. Major cities include Montreal and the capital Quebec City.
- Saskatchewan
- Central prairie province known for vast wheat fields and flat landscape. Located between Alberta and Manitoba. Capital is Regina.
- Yukon
- Northwestern territory bordering Alaska, known for the Klondike Gold Rush, mountains, and wilderness. Capital is Whitehorse.
